Sports for Champions are a fundraising company and raise funds through a sponsorship programme, both for our school and for unsponsored Team GB athletes on their way to either the  Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games or the European and World Championships.

These GB Athletes who represent our country don't have time to earn a living due to their training regime which can be 35+ hours a week. Our programme sees us attending schools nationally with these athletes and this has proved extremely successful over the last 7 years.

Our pupils have been asked to get sponsored by friends and family to participate in a sponsored fitness circuit alongside their visiting GB International Athlete, Stephanie Inglis, before the athlete will inspire and motivate through the whole school assembly that follows.

Each athlete has a different story, a different perspective, and they are asked to shape their presentation around why they got into sports in the first instance, and what initially inspired them. Which in turn will inspire our pupils!

They also discuss the importance of living a healthy lifestyle via power point, and answer any questions your children may have, before showing a demonstration of their sport, and some of the medals that they have won, to give that wow factor to all the children at your school!

Stephanie Inglis is a Scottish judoka. She competed for Scotland in the women's 57 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal. On 10 May 2016, whilst on a sabbatical teaching English as a second language in Ha LongVietnam, and riding as a pillion passenger on a motorbike taxi, Inglis's skirt got caught in the wheel, pulling her off the motorcycle.

Having been moved to a hospital in BangkokThailand, on 6 June 2016, Inglis awakened three weeks after being placed in a medically induced coma. She  arrived home in Scotland in June 2016, having been flown via air ambulance to continue her recovery. She was able to speak within a few days later.

She hopes to return to judo for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

We believe, along with Sports for Champions, that within every child is a champion, and through inspiration and motivation, we can help you unleash that champion at Kinlochleven High School.

Please support your child and help them to find sponsors.
