Ongoing assessment is, and will continue to be, a central part of everyday learning. Teachers will continue to draw on the full range of assessment activity when considering children's progress and planning the next steps in their learning. The new national standardised assessments will simply provide another excellent source of evidence for teachers to use when assessing children's progress and planning next steps.
