Dear All
Substance awareness is taught annually in PLP in school. Kara (Youth Development Officer) joins our PLP classes and talks about the risks of drugs and harm reduction. Kara has recently finished a block with S4 and S3 before the summer holidays and is about to start a block with S1 and S2.

There has been a lot of information on drugs in rural areas in Great Britain recently, specifically about 'County Lines'. This is where dealers are using youngsters to move drugs from major cities to smaller locations.
Police Scotland say there are more than 20 active routes north of the border known as "County Lines".

The recent surveys and investigations show it is so much easier to get hold of drugs through social media, something we all find very concerning.

If you are looking for more information the Highland Substance Awareness Toolkit has a number of useful links and leaflets:-

Likewise, if you have information you would like to pass on anonymously please call Crimestoppers:-

We are always looking into ways we can inform and support parents and young people. Please get in touch if you have any questions and we will do our best to answer them.

Kind regards
