The apprenticeships family of qualifications are designed to tackle potential skills gaps, and support new or existing employees to develop. These include the Foundation Apprenticeship, the Modern Apprenticeship and the Graduate Apprenticeship. Skills Development Scotland (SDS) work closely with Scotland’s industries to make sure apprenticeships meet their needs.
SDS are also Scotland’s national skills body, and have a key role in setting up people for success, giving advice to youngsters about the possible routes beyond the senior phase.Likewise, SDS administers the funding for apprenticeships training, on behalf of the Scottish Government. The assembly during P7 for pupils and the session from 4-5pm for pupils and or parents is to give everyone an opportunity to get a better understadning of the possible apprenticeship routes and opportunities available.
The session will be attended by Keith Greene ( SDS Development & Delivery Executive) who will be talking about Foundation Apprenticeships. Fiona Campbell from Robert Gordon University will be talking about Graduate Apprenticeships. Caroline Thurman and Rebecca Small (Scottish Government) and employees from Liberty Smelter will be talking about Modern Apprenticeships.
We hope you will be able to join us.
